Reception letters to our friends at home

Yesterday,in school, we talked about our friends who were doing their learning at home and we decided to write them to let they know we are missing them!  The children tried so hard to write in their best handwriting and to use their phonic knowledge to sound out and write them a letter.  I will be sending these in the post so if you are a lucky recipient and need help deciphering it then please let me know.

As noted in previous posts, at school we are finding that the area where the children’s progress has been most impacted is with their independent writing.  It is more motivating for a child to write with a purpose so if you want to give them a challenge, please feel free to get them to write to us.  Please don’t give them a letter to copy but encourage them to sound it out for themselves.  You can see below some of my class’ letters to their friends and how they have done this.
