Wednesday 10th June 2020 – Writing task.

Good morning Year 4,

Today you can use plans if you did yesterday’s task, comments you added yesterday or if you haven’t look back at yesterdays’s blog so you can watch the video and create a quick plan. I have added the clip to remind you.

https://www.literacyshed.com/shirtmachine.html

Today you are going to write the instructions to how the t shirt machine works.

You will need to include the following:

  • an introduction to explain what the end result will be/ what will be made
  • a list of materials/ equipment that will be needed to make the t shirt
  • imperative verbs to describe what needs to be done to make the machine work, for example press, twist, release – use your plan – get , put, it  – tells us nothing describe! These words are banned!
  • each step should be each part you numbered yesterday  – with verb and adverb (how you will make that part work)
  • fronted adverbials use a comma, for example: Inside the tank, After that, As soon as,
  • numbered steps – use your plan – should be atleast 10 steps.
  • use brackets to add extra hints and tips to help the person reading your instructions work each part correctly,
  • if you wish to handwrite you can add labelled diagrams.

Please make steps clear, detailled – you are Year 4 – go for it! You all know how to write instructions so think about the language you are using.

You can type your instructions using the structure I have bullet pointed in the comments or hand write and send a photo to our email!

Look forward to reading them later.

Mrs Denny, Mrs Baldry and Miss Bishop.

    MY machine how it works
So first the crusher crushes materials to turn into like fabric if its already fabric it drops down on to the conveyer in to the colour designer if its not fabric it goes to the fabric machine which then puts it onto the conveyer. Now the conveyer goes up to the design maker and then finally a manican comes in to try on the t-shirt.

Introduction: This machine is designed to create T-shirts
    Steps to take
    1. You need to change the batteries to make sure the machine works efficiently.
    2. Then you need to add 1kg of cotton into the container, these will be transported through the pipes.
    3. Design your T-shirt pattern on a mini computer, use your imagination, make your designs interesting.
    4. Press the enter button on the computer keyboard.
    5. It will take 3 minutes to the T-shirt to be processed.
    6. There will be steam going out off the extremely hot pipe, so move away not to hurt yourself. Work carefully.
    7. The other parts you will need are titanium and cardboard, last but not least 3 logs of wood. Add these to the big container, where the cotton was used before.
    8. When the green light is on, that means the T-shirt is already completed.
    9. Spin the wheel quickly, so it moves the T-shirt to the side and you can create a new one in no time.
When you spin the wheel quickly the conveyor belt moves the T-shirt into a red 1 m long box.
    10. When you finish work make sure you press the little red button to turn everything off carefully.

how to make your own t-shirt!

    3. Now put your Flying cloth Into the rusty machine.

    2. Then you step on the green go button.
    3. And then it rumbles and it goes voomparnkachang x3 then zip x10 then pop.
    4. And in a little slot a neat t-shirt in spotted parcel will come out.
    5. Then in a pad you would write who it was for and what it can do.
    6. The when you have enough you deliver them to the person it was for.

    Shirt Machine
The result will be amazing. This machine will reach success and it shall speed along to make more clothing. It’s job is to make shirts as I said. But not some ordinary shirts… Some have fitted gear, some are edible and even some have special powers.
How do you make a shirt using it
    1) Pull the lever into it’s position.
    2) Next you need to say the machines name and tell her/him what kind of shirt you want so you want it to do.
    3) After that, insert the gear you want it to have.
    3) If you want it to have powers you imagine what power you would like it to have.
    4) Then let the machine do whatever to make the shirt.
    5) Next you collect the shirt. If you have noticed the shirt is still pale.
    6) Again, you say the machines name and then you tell her/him what you want it to look like.
    7) Let the machine do whatever to paint the shirt
    8) Pour in the colour paint you want the shirt to be.
    9) At this point, collect the shirt.
    10) At the end, add any patterns and images to your shirt.
    11) Enjoy!!!
