Hello to our wonderful Year Fours,

Great to see a few more blogging – try and complete all the tasks that we set so you keep up to date with your learning and practice the skills we have taught you so far this year.

As your RE, has been about Pentecost, let’s continue with some reading comprehension on this topic.

Remember read the text carefully and then please remember to answer your questions in full sentences.

  1. How could someone work out when Pentecost could be celebrated each year?
  2. What marks the beginning of the Christian church?
  3. Why did Jesus encourage people to reflect on the way they lived?
  4. Write down two things that Jesus told his disciples about the job they were planning to do?

    1. Pentecost occurs 50 days after Good Friday.
    2. Christians believe that Jesus was crucified on Good Friday, which they mark as the beginning of a Christian church.
    3. Jesus encouraged people to reflect on their behaviour, so they would enter the kingdom of Heaven when they died.
    4. Their job was to spread God’s message of love and they would receive a gift from God to carry out their job.

    Pentecost

    1. How could someone work out when Pentecost could be celebrated each year?
    It was celebrated 50 days after Good Friday.

    2. What marks the beginning of the Christian church?
    Fifty days after Good Friday when Jesus was crucified marks the beginning of the Christian Church.

    3. Why did Jesus encourage people to reflect on the way they lived?
    Because it was Gods message so everyone will enter the Kingdom of Heaven after they died.

    4. Write down two things that Jesus told his disciples about the job they were planning to do?
    Spread God massage of love and need strength to do the job.

    5. Choose which word is the closest in meaning to bewildered. – angry, annoyed, confused, understanding

    The clouds came down by the mountain side and a mighty wind entered the room they were in.

    Pentecost
    1) Pentecost occurs 50 days after Good Friday.
    2) Christian always believe that Jesus was crucified on Good Friday which we marked as beginning of Christian church.
    3) Jesus encoraged people to change their personality to be good and enter the Kingdom of Heaven after their death.
    4) The Apostles job was to spread Gods message of love.
    5) Confused.
    6) Tongues of fire appeared on the disciples heads and sudden wind started hurrying into the room.

      1’presto is a Christian celebration that occurs fifty days after Friday when christians en Christians jesus was crucified.it is said to be the beginning of the Christian church
      2.the beginning is when Jesus was put on the cross
