    Biography of Mahatma Ghandi
Mahatma Mohandas Karamchand Ghandi had good respect to the poor since the British rule. The reason I have chosen him because of his inspirational work and his contribution to the society in early 19th Century. Ghandi was born in Porbandar, India. He was born on 2nd October 1869. During his childhood, Ghandi was shy with no interest in games. His Mom said the last words which was “stay safe”. His first marriage was at the age of 14.

    Family life
Ghandi’s father name was Karamchand Ghandi. He worked as a Diwan in the state. During his life he married four times. At the age of 9 Ghandi entered the school. In April 1893, Ghandi at the age of 23 set sail for South Africa.
After arriving in South Africa, Ghandi faced lot of discrimination and racism. He fought against this with Non Violence.
His first two wives died young. Sad for Mahatma Ghandi. He had 3 children with. One of his children was known to be the child giving birth. Ghandi eldest brother name was Laxmidas. He worked during his life for long. He made quote of “The future depends what to do today”. He practised the laws of India after. Well his hobbies were practising laws and helping the poor.

    Achievements/Career
Ghandi has been spreading message of peace and non-violence. Here are some of his achievements:

    • Gandhi joined the Congress introduced to Indian issue.
    • Ghandi took leadership over the congress.
    • Gandhi’s first major achievement came in 1917 with the Champaran agitation in Bihar.

The reason that he is special is that he made lots of contribution to the freedom movement of India. I love one of his quotes where he said, “Be the change in the world”.

    Conclusion
For the planned future will be remembered to the society for contributions made.

    Did you know?
He was a popular lawyer. And practised to be a lawyer in South Africa for 20 years then went back to India because he got treated badly in South Africa.

    Biography of William Shakespeare

    Introduction:
The person I am going to write about is William Shakespeare, the amazing poet and the playwright. I have chosen him because he inspires me by his enormous artistic achievements.

    Early Life:
William Shakespeare was the son of John Shakespeare, an alderman and a successful glover (glove-maker) originally from Snitterfield, and Mary Arden, the daughter of an affluent landowning farmer. He was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, where he was baptised on 26 April 1564. His date of birth is unknown, but is traditionally observed on 23 April, Saint George’s Day. He was the third of eight children, and the eldest surviving son.

    Family Life:
At the age of 18, Shakespeare married 26-year-old Anne Hathaway and six months after the marriage Anne gave birth to a daughter, Susanna, baptised 26 May 1583, then twins, son Hamnet and daughter Judith. Hamnet died when he was 11. Come 1585, the mysterious William Shakespeare disappeared from records for around seven years! Historians often refer to this part of the writer’s life as ‘the lost years’… Then, in 1592 he suddenly turned up in London as an actor and playwright. But poor William didn’t have it easy – his jealous rivals, known as the ‘University Wits’, criticised and made fun of his work. One writer, named Robert Greene, referred to him as ‘an upstart crow’!

    Achievements/Career:
He wrote 154 sonnets, 38 plays and 2 narratives. He was really famous for his work as a poet, writer and even an actor. Shakespeare’s plays were immediately big hits! He wrote different kinds of plays, all of which could be divided into three categories:
Tragedy – including Hamlet, Othello, King Lear and Romeo and Juliet
Comedy – including Twelfth Night and the The Taming of the Shrew
History – including Henry IV, Henry V and Richard III
His plays made him very rich and famous. So much so, that by 1598, William owned houses in London and Stratford-up-Avon.
Both Queen Elizabeth I and James VI of Scotland and I of England would often hire Shakespeare’s company to come and perform at the royal court.
Plays in Shakespeare’s time were different to the ones we have today. There were no female actors (women’s parts were played by men).

    Conclusion:
He was a famous writer and I think he will never be forgotten. Today, Shakespeare’s work is studied in schools and universities around the world.
